During week 2 we had our school cross country and lots of our year 4's took part in the championship race where they had to run around Te Kahu Park four times. They all did an amazing job!
Everyone also took part in the school fun run. There were lots of different obstacles, we had logs to jump over, hills to run up and down, tyres to step through, desks to crawl under, and the playground monkey bars to swing across.

On Thursday in week 2 the whole school did Cross Country. You could choose to do the championship race, the championship race is where you get to race, but only if you’re your year 4 or 5 or 6. But if you don’t want to, all you have to do is the fun run. The fun run is really cool because you get to do 2 whole laps. I came 12 place in the fun run and I didn’t stop running only for the logs and the hill.

I went to cross country, it was so amazing. Have you ever ran in the zones? At the end of the race lots of people where so puffed. On the fun ran I was feeling so excited, I was happy and I felt happy for my pals, yay! Haray! I loved it, you had to go under desks, it was amazing. I had lots of friends to run with, Chloe was supporting me a lot and so was Jaydah. They are such nice friends.

At school we had cross country, it was the 9th of May 2019. Have you done a cross country before? I have, it was very Exhausting! I was running in blue house, Kitty Hawk. By the end everybody was exhausted, at first everybody was excited. First everybody started altogether and then we went over the logs and up and down the hill 2 times. After that we had to jump into about 6 tyres, we had to go under 1 desk and then we went on the playground. On the playground we went on the monkey bars. Then we did all of that again.

Wow, your cross country fun / run sounds amazing. You all did super well. We all have to do the cross country too.... but it doesn't sound as fun as yours. We enjoyed reading your writing, you have used lots of descriptive words. We are learning to use descriptive words as well. We like how you had writing and photos on the same blog post.
