Matariki

During Week 8 we completed a reading inquiry on Matariki leading up to the big event in Week 9. In Pairs we had to choose from a range of tasks and complete these across the week. Check out the different tasks we had to choose from in the below slides.

Then to kick off Matariki last week our choice reading groups Puwhare and Kōwhiringa chose from a range of different Matariki focused books and corresponding tasks.

Check out the awesome work we completed below!

  1. Hi Kereru Learning Log, we also learned about Matariki. It looks like you learned lots of exciting things and created lots of new learning. We celebrated Matariki yesterday as a whole school and had a kite flying competition.

  2. Kia Ora!
It was so exciting to see this post about Matariki because in Room 2 at HPS we have also been doing some Matariki artwork with our buddy class. We loved hearing the story and creating some very special Matariki art. Did you find it interesting that they have found two new stars? We sure did.
