Reading: Chang-o and The Moon

Using Explain Everything to share our learning During the last week of Term 1 some children in our Kōwhiringa choice group chose to read Chang-o and The Moon with Miss Skinner. This was a traditional Chinese tale that explains the story behind of the “goddess in the moon”. They were challenged to retell this story by using our skills on explain everything to make it into a movie. Check out Charlotte and Aeryn's awesome movie below!

Cross Country

During week 2 we had our school cross country and lots of our year 4's took part in the championship race where they had to run around Te Kahu Park four times. They all did an amazing job! Everyone also took part in the school fun run. There were lots of different obstacles, we had logs to jump over, hills to run up and down, tyres to step through, desks to crawl under, and the playground monkey bars to swing across. Our Cross Country Writing On Thursday in week 2 the whole school did Cross Country. You could choose to do the championship race, the championship race is where you get to race, but only if you’re your year 4 or 5 or 6. But if you don’t want to, all you have to do is the fun run. The fun run is really cool because you get to do 2 whole laps. I came 12 place in the fun run and I didn’t stop running only for the logs and the hill.
